Leadership and Team Development

Your team is capable individually. Together, it is not yet a team.

We work alongside presidents, vice presidents, and other institutional leaders to develop stronger executive teams, cabinets, deans’ councils, and division leadership teams. We begin by understanding how the team operates and what may be preventing its members from working effectively together. Through a collaborative approach, we help leaders move beyond individual priorities, strengthen relationships, and develop the shared commitment and accountability needed to work across boundaries to advance institutional goals.

ON A CAMPUS

Where does the work need to happen?

An executive team where every conversation becomes a negotiation between units.

A new president inheriting a leadership team assembled by someone else.

Deans and directors who were promoted as scholars and never developed as leaders.

ACROSS THE INSTITUTION

What this work looks like for the whole institution.

Cabinet development, cross-unit collaboration, and the behaviors that decide whether institutional strategy gets executed at all.

INSIDE A DIVISION OR UNIT

What it looks like for a single division.

A division’s leadership team learning to run the unit together, not just their own areas of it.

HOW WE WORK

We listen, evaluate, and build.

01

Listen

We begin by understanding the team’s history, relationships, leadership dynamics, and the challenges its members face in working together.

02

Evaluate

Team effectiveness is shaped by more than individual leadership styles. We examine how roles, expectations, decision-making, communication, and organizational priorities influence the way the team operates.

03

Build

We engage leaders in practical conversations and development experiences that strengthen relationships, establish shared expectations, and improve how they work together.

04

Support

We help teams translate insights into everyday leadership practices, clear commitments, and greater accountability so that development continues beyond a retreat or workshop.

90% of our work comes from repeat clients and referrals.
