HIGHER EDUCATION PRACTICE
Advancing
Higher Education
Helping higher education leaders navigate complexity and turn strategy into action.

THE SIGNAL
You have the vision and the plan but neither has gained traction.
Enrollment pressure. Financial uncertainty. Leadership turnover. Governance complexity. Artificial intelligence reshaping the work. Conflict that stalls good plans. Today's colleges and universities face multiple challenges simultaneously, and those challenges rarely have easy answers.

ON A CAMPUS
What does this look like on a campus?
Across the institution
Strategic planning and execution, accreditation preparation and response, change management, cost reduction and resource reallocation, and leadership development for executive teams: the interconnected pressures no single office can solve alone.
Inside a division or unit
The same rigor where strategy must actually be executed: athletics, student affairs, academic affairs, international education, enrollment management. Strategy that gains traction below the cabinet.
HOW WE WORK
We listen first.
Every institution is different; we start by understanding yours.
We think systemically.
Strategy, governance, culture, and finances are connected; our work reflects that.
We stay through implementation.
The value of a plan is whether it gets executed.
BY ROLE
What keeps you up at night depends on where you sit.
Institutional resilience and long-term viability
Strategic plans that move the dial, and don’t get shelved after the consultant leaves
The cost of acting too late
Whether the leadership team has the capacity to execute
Stakeholder and political accountability

THE PRACTICE LEAD
Led by someone who has been accountable for these decisions.
Dr. Robbyn Wacker
MANAGING PARTNER, HIGHER EDUCATION PRACTICE
Robbyn brings more than three decades of executive leadership in higher education, including two university presidencies and service as provost and chief academic officer. She served as President of St. Cloud State University and Interim President of Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences.
She has spent her career assembling and developing leadership teams, moving strategy from plan to execution, guiding institutions through change, working with boards and governance bodies, and building programs that open new markets and strengthen financial position.
As leader of Springboard’s Higher Education Practice, she brings the perspective of an executive who has been accountable for the decisions leaders in higher education are now facing.
